1980's Taurus revolvers

What can anyone tell me about the quality of the Taurus 38 special revolvers in stainless produced in the 1980's? The one I am looking at appears to be in good condition with a very few rounds fired. Does the Taurus lifetime warranty apply to firearms produced in this time frame?

  I'm not sure if the lifetime warranty still applies, but I can tell you this. I bought one in late '88, have fired better than five hundred rounds through it, and it hasn't missed a lick. I have taken great care of it, as I do all my guns, and it still amazes me as much as the first time I fired it.
