Wolf Ammo
I heard that Wolf ammo messes up the barrel in your rifle. Is this true, specifically .223. Thanks.[8]

Saw this brand at gun show and noticed the 9mm was in STEEL CASINGS. Does this steel case damage a handgun? Thanks to all replies. 0 -
Yes, the steel casings can damage the feed ramp. 0 -
Probably start a fight here, but i've fired thousands of wolf through my Sig 226 with no noticed wear. I contacted Wolf about this and they said their cases caused no more wear than any other case.Sig said the warrenty was covered as long as there were no reloads used and would not discourage me from using them.I always clean my pistol right after firing because of the dirty powder and inspect it thoroughly.I've never had a jam or misfire with them, and while I do not carry concealed with them ,because of their cheap price use them exclusively at the range. I have heard stories of problems with Wolf but have had no problems personally 0 -
I go to two ranges the one range does not even allow wolf or CCI/Blazer ammo just because they sell the brass casings. The other range they let you use what ever you want because you are supposed to clean up your shells. I personaly will not use wolf because i don't like the idea of steel ammo in my gun. I can get brass cased ammo at wal-mart dirt cheap and CCI blazer is cheap to. I know people say that these rounds by wolf are loaded poorly. But i bought a case of remmington 357 mag ammo and i had 2 rounds that were under powered and the bullets lodged in the barrel. I was think i was lucky that i noticed both times and did not fire a second round. I sent the cases and bullets alongs with all info to remington a month ago. still no response. I no longer buy remington ammo.[This message has been edited by Rob3448 (edited 03-11-2002).] 0 -
no warranty problems. the laquer coating allows for the feeding to be smooth, that's why they don't damage the ramp. I have fired thousands of them in many calibers, no problems. Clean the gun every time with ANY ammo and the coating becomes a mute point. 0 -
fired thousands of rounds of the 9mm, only time I ever had a jam was due to a weak magazine spring. Actually, my S&W prefers it over any other brand, so I use it for carry. The only handguns that seem to have a problem with it are the TZ-99's from south Africa. Seems the extractor is slightly out of spec. 0 -
