7.35 Carcano load update
Awhile back, as you might recall, I acquired two carcanos. One was in 6.5 with a somewhat bent reciever which we won't even go into again. The other was a 7.35 in excellant shape. I shot it once with surplus and finally got around to shooting some reloads today. After hemming and hawing for awhile, I finally went the cheap assed route and ordered a custom sizer die from Lee in .301 as my bore measures .3005. I then resized some cast .308 bullets (150gr flat nose) lubed em again, and loaded with C.H. Harris's "the load" of 13 gr. of Red Dot. Well, you reap what you sow. Out of 30 shots I hit the paper about 9 times. As an added bonus annoyance, some ammo wouldn't feed properly, as little lead shavings seemed to get everywhere, impregnating themselves into the brass, gumming up the chamber, etc. The rifle's headspace must be perfect as even a small shard a thousandth of an inch thick prevented the round from chambering. I finished off by firing some more surplus, with somewhat better results, though by this time my bore was leaded and accuracy suffered anyhow.As a result, I ordered a custom mould in .300 from Ammodump in australia. I still need to get the handles and will give it another go. If it works out, I may even consider selling some of the cast bullets at GB, as I know that bullets in this diameter are hard to come by at a good price and I always like to share.BTW- if anyone has a set of Lee or RCBS mould handles, let me know.

Well blackgun, I might be interested, but it depends on how cheap, what the condition is, what model, and finally, where you are located. I haven't got an FFL or C&R, so you would just about have to be close enough for me to pick it up personally, or else be offering it so cheap that the shipping/transfer fee wouldn't be a problem.
