I need some opinions on the Browning Hi-Power pistol.
I am thinking about getting one and need a little input from members who have some experience with them.
Thanks

According to the 22nd Edition of Blue Book:.30 Luger cal., mfg. for European sales (most are marked BAC on slide), approx. 1,500 imported late 1986-89, similar specifications as 9mm Para. model. As to your other questions:Reg: .40 S&W (new 1995), anything marked Browning would be assembled in Portugal and all would be 10 shot mags. This is not to say that FN didn't make any for European sales, but again, they wouldn't be marked Browning.Reg: FNMI (Fabrique Nationale Manufactures Importer). These are indeed made and assembled in Belgium, as again, they do not say Browning anywhere on them and Browning Arms, Morgan, Utah, has "NOTHING" to do with them. Hope this helps.[This message has been edited by Spring Creek (edited 03-08-2002).] 0 -
Spring Creek,Thanks for the info, it's what I figured.I read a reply by you on another Browning question so I hoped you would reply to mine. 0 -
Two interesting notes on the 30 Luger Hi Power barrels: they were of two piece construction and the barrel outside diameter is less than that of the 9mm so either the slide has to be bushed or the barrel outside diameter has to be increased by sleeving in order to be used in the standard Hi Power slide. 0 -
