Rifle Rest

A search showed it's been over a year since the question was asked on which is the best rifle rest, so I thought I would bring it up again.

I am looking for the best rifle rest to be used for three purposes: sighting in scopes, cleaning / breaking in barrels, and for first shot by first time rifle shooters.

The previous topic only had one reply, suggesting the Bench Master gun rest was the best. Still true?

I made my own in our shop out of steel and i used foam pipe insulation for the rest. It works just like the ones in the magazine. It requires a little welding and some brazing. I am currently working on one you attatch your swivel studs to and bolt to the bench for heavy magnum calibers. If you dont have access to a shop a Cabelas Elite Rest is the way to go. I have also used a Outers Varmiter rest but it doesn't work as well as Elite.
