what is the best way to store extra shotgun barrel

I use Sack-ups; they have a size made for shotgun barrels.Of course, you then need to store them in the same temperature/humidity controlled safe as your guns to prevent rust.Neal 0 -
An alternative, practical for long term storage, is to coat the barrel well with a light gun oil and store in a sealed plastic bag, with as much air as possible squeezed out, or a vacu-seal used to take out the air and seal the bag. Use plenty of oil and coat thoroughly. 0 -
Saxon, you may remember this storage question came up a while back with some on the let it breathe side and some on the seal it side. I was on the let it breathe side (I prefer siliconized Bore Stores to sack ups, looser and fleecy inside for better protection). But, I bought a rifled action and received it oiled and sealed in plastic. I have been watching it for over a year and it is perfect. I think either way works, but oiled and sealed for the long term seems to require less worry. 0 -
