Can the Chinese ( or any other than the Russian) fit the 30 shot clip? Thanks,

I installed a 20 round mag on my sks rifle and found that I would get a jam every other round. Soon I found that if I hit the butt of the rifle to set the rounds back in the mag- the problem went away. Any reasons why? I'd like to be able to load and shoot without bumping the rear. 0 -
Slayer, you may want to check you state regs before you put the bayo on. Depending on when you rifle was imported, it may not be legal with the bayo. Something to keep in the back of your head. 0 -
I don't think the lugs are detachable, it was probably ground off. 0 -
The SKS bayonet lugs are part of the front sight assembly. They are a one piece unit. Normally to get an assembly you'll end up buying one that has been "cut" off another gun. It will have the section of barrel still attached. They are on the barrel very tightly and usually need gunsmithing to attach or detach. If your SKS has had the bayonet lug removed, (ground off), it was done for a reason. It would indicate that it was removed because the gun was imported after the ban. This was not the 1994 Crime Bill or the 1989 Assault Weapons Ban, but rather the November 1990 ban. It was attached to a health bill (sneaky), and affected the Chinese SKS and its legal ability to have a folding stock or a bayonet. If the SKS you have doesn't have a bayonet lug, it is because it was removed intentionally. If you were to put one back on, it would be a violation of federal law. It doesn't matter what state you are in. However some states won't allow bayonets on any guns either, but the Chinese SKS is not classified as a C&R. The Russian and Romanian, as well as the Yugoslav SKS's are allowed to have the bayonets, the Chinese ones are not, since 1990. Even if the gun is older it doesn't matter, it had to have been imported before November 1990. The effort needed to attach a new lug is cost prohibitive in several ways. If you have to have a bayonet on an SKS, I'd find another one and leave this one as it is. 0 -
I need to find out if my chinese SKS isa pre-ban firearm. How do I go about finding this out? Thanks, borneojoey 0 -
