HOW OLD IS THE M-97. THE REASON I ASK IS I HAD ONE IN THE SHOP LAST YEAR AND THE BORE DIA. WAS SO LARGE (OVER .750") THAT INVECTORS COULDN'T BE INSTALLED. STANDARD 12. GA. IS SUPPOSE TO BE .729" GIVE OR TAKE A FEW THOUSANDS. IF YOU INSTALL INVECTORS IN THIS OVERSIZE BARREL YOU WILL GET A 'STEP' AT THE CHOKE AND THAT WILL SCREW UP YOUR PATTERN. THE M-97 I HAD TROUBLE WITH WAS A VERY EARLY ONE, I HAVE DONE SEVERAL LATER M-97'S WITH NO TROUBLE AT ALL.

Would the Invector plus tubes have been better Mike ? There sized for the overbored barrels that are popular in clay shooting11echo I have both styles (std & Plus) and yes they do work It sounds like Mike might have given you the answer as to why you are experancing problems[This message has been edited by Tailgunner1954 (edited 02-28-2002).]

tailgunner; invector plus might have worked but i don't have tooling nor can i find any listed any place. it is pretty specialised as you have to have an overbored barrel to start with. and thats a lot of work to put into a crapy 97.

It was just a thought, considering that the barrel was already oversized
