SAXONPIG - Thanks for the reply. It is a Colt semi-auto 22 with First Edition engraved on the side of the barrel. The Mod. # came of the original box cover that enclosed the hard case. The Black Chrome is the way the finish discription is noted on the box. Hope this helps.

Colts have had BOTH a model # and name, at least for the last 50 years.I believe that Saxon is correct, as I have been unable to find any documentation of such a gun. Special issues could be ordered by any group or distributor who could afford the cost; if you can't identify the original group, it may be impossible to find more info.Value on these is usually only a little more than that of the standard model on which it is based.

Saxonpig & Nmyers - Thanks again for replys. Finally got ahold of someone at Colt and need to get them the Ser.#. Looking closer at some barcode labels under some tape I found that it is a limited edition #136/400. Still do not know much about it but a little closer. Thanks again guys.

I do not follow Colt commeratives and have not paid much attention to the recent .22 pistols. However, I think this pistol may be a special introductory model of the Cadet introduced in the 1990s, but I do not have my Colt materials at hand to verify my hunch. Dr. Pig, you are mistaken about "black chrome." There is indeed such a finish. It is a finish that is mirror shiney, but black. Black chrome has been used on many firearms. Winchester M94 rifles had black chrome receivers for a while as I recall. Some of the refinishers offer black chrome.

Gunfriendly because they have a need for "Avenging Angels" and "Mormom Militia!!" Hahahaha! Yep, SLC as a matter of fact! They did a good job of keeping the Olympics safe, anyway! But, I haven't yet figured out what they could do with those Blackhawk helos flying around or those soldiers with M-16 rifles in those crowds......Interesting! Don't suppose it was a little propaganda do you? Anyway, it worked!!!

You are on the mark with the Colt model number. I bought one new and fired it quite a bit with never a problem. It was priced low for a Colt but don't recall the price. illustrating it and giving specs. Mine was a sort of brushed chrome finish not black. In my office I have a poster measuring about 18x24". If you will give me a email address I will send you a picture of the poster. Hope this helps. Robert. rhmc24@swbell.net
