9mm Magazine Compatibility
This may be a dumb question, but it may make a difference to my next firearm purchase. I noticed that the Ruger and S&W 9mm magazines are not all that different. The Ruger magazines have a small hole in them in a certain spot for locking into the gun, the S&W have the hole in another spot, but the general size and shape seem remarkably similar, even the lips. It would seem that even though you can't interchange them, they aren't too far apart. So my question is this: are there any other guns that use the same magazine as S&W? I know the Marlin Camp 9 carbine is one, but I'm thinking of 9mm handguns.

The only handgun I know of that is compatible with Smith & Wesson magazines is the Kel-Tec P-11 9mm, which will take the S&W type 59 magazines. 0 -
The Daewoo DP51 (full size or compact) uses S&W magazines, as does the previously mentioned Keltec P11 and Marlin Camp 9. 0 -
Although not a hand gun, the Kel Tec Sub rifle 2000 will accept double column, glock, S&W, and beretta magazine. 0 -
Thanks everyone for the replies. I didn't know about the Daewoo. If I ever see one at a good price, I'll keep it in mind. I have read some good things about them on this board. 0
