Early 1900 shotguns
How do the old Savage/Stevens or Remington Model 31's shoot and handle? I notice a number of them run across the GB boards, and usuually bring a moderate price. Are more being bought as "collectors" or are they great shooters?

Remington 31's were pump action shotguns available in 12, 16, and 20 gauge and barrel lentgh's from 26 to 32 inches, they were takedown's, blued, and walnut stocks and forearms. Give or take a short snort there were about 160,000 of them made from from 1931 to 1949. The solid ribs command a premium and the vent ribs command even more of a premium. They are fine shotguns----if you are are a pump shotgun fan, then they are fine machines sort of in the 870 league.Regards 0
