I seriously doubt that you'll experience a problem as the hole in the boss is larger than that of the bore, as the boss just screws forward or backward to dampen vibration; unlike porting holes drilled dirctly into the barrel. I would expect a ported barrel to perhaps pick up some plastic fouling. In the case of the boss holes, the plastic sabot won't be passing by the holes with direct contact. I have shot some of the factory loaded .30-30 Accelerator rounds and was quite impressed, but they cost too much to use extensively. You've probably got the right idea loading your own.

My dad has some in the remington factory loads for his 30-06 but he never shoots them. I found mine on the Gunbroker auction. I want to load some 40 grain nosler ballistic tips for my 300 win mag they should shoot close to 4500 fps. I want them mostly to shoot groundhogs.
