The NRA has a list of shoots and events available...but not all shoots are registered or sanctioned by NRA, I'd check with the local gun shops and dealers in the area....if there is something going on they're usually the first to know. Some events like IPSC have web sites and links that you might check. Also look for web sites for the state rifle & pistol associations.

1st, join the NRA.2nd, contact your local chapter and request the information from them. Most shooting events are not classified "professional" or "amateur". You just need to take a NRA approved gun safety course, the most ranges will let you join in competition shooting. Someone will always be willing to teach you the rules of the competition, and will usually be willing to let you join them in a few practice sessions.Good luck, and let us know if you join in.
Save, research, then buy the best.Join the NRA, NOW!Teach them young, teach them safe, teach them forever, but most of all, teach them to VOTE!

Michael,Surf out to www.uspsa.org and use the "Find Club" option. There's at least 4 clubs in VA (Northern VA Practical Shooters, Black Creek Shooters, Roanoke Rifle and Revolver Club and Blackwater Practical Shooters)Find the one closest to you and ask when they're going to have their next match then go out and have a good time.Take Care,Zack Jones
