Taurus Problem

I have owned a Taurus PT111 since last October, it has about 2000 rounds through it and I clean it after each session. Yesterday the slide disassembley latch broke in half. Just wondering if anyone else has had such a problem?

  I dropped mine (really a dumb move) into my range bag after shooting a crappy round at a bowling pin shoot & broke one of the safety wings off. I've not seen one of the take downs break. Send it back to Taurus they will fix it but it'll take 3 or 4 weeks. RG
