Desert Eagle .357 mag
Well I just got my desert eagle in 357. I could not pass it up because it was 650 for a new one. Well i am looking for advice on ammo for the gun. Will Sellier and Bellot 158GR FMJ or JFP work? What other brands and type on ammo works? I was told not all ammo will cycle the action. Thanks

The DE pistols work best with loads that are "full-power" and have either a "FMJ and/or Semi-jacketed" type bullet.I like the 125 gr. Metal cased "UMC" 0 -
compgunfireI was told that i have to stick with 158 gr. bullets because they have the power to cycle the action. 0 -
I have a Coonan Arms .357 auto. It cycles everything well but my favorites (and the gun's also) is the Fiocchi loads. They are a little hotter than the others. My personal favorite is the 142 fmj. Try those I think you will like them. If you like hollowpoints try the 148 gr. They work great too. 0 -
I will try a box of Fiocchi loads. Thanks 0 -
Just curious but can you shoot .38 special thru it too? 0 -
No, .38 spl won't cycle the slide. The Coonan had a conversion kit so you could fire .38spl, but the Desert Eagle does not. 0 -
even the +P+ 38's will not work in the desert eagle. But then some 125 grain ammo does not even work 0
