I used the screwdriver-looking end of a lug wrench since I didn't have a screwdriver big enough to fill the slot of the stock nut. I'm assuming that you know to take off the recoil pad first. 0 -
Yep the buttpad is off, I do have a large screwdriver however I thougt i'd better ask before I broke something. Man that think is in tight. Thanks for the reply

Try tightening the screw a very little first. Sometimes this gets the bolt broke loose then proceed to remove the stock bolt 0 -
Find a piece of electrical conduit or PVC pipe small enough to fit into the hole in the buttstock... slide it in and use your screwdriver inside the tube... This will prevent the stock from splitting when you put pressure on the screwdriver and it slips out of the slot... Good luck..... 0 -
Note of caution on this one. The nut is somewhat thin, and I broke one in half trying to take one off. Not all the way of course, just half of the screw slot and some down the side making any screwdriver useless. After soaking the threads a bit and thinking for a couple of days, I tried a sparkplug socket on my socket wrench. Worked like a charm. 0 -
To all that gave suggestions, thank you. After several days of penetrating oil and 1 crow bar, plus a piece of pvc the stock has been removed with no harm done! Thanks Again,Bob
