Is this a remington 76?
I have a friend who may have one of these. Is the rifle a .22, remington, semi-auto, have a black plastic stock and have that long inline magazine? If i am correct, how much is one of these worth? His is in "good" condition, meaning it functions great but the stock has seen better days, a few scratches and maybe a minor crackAny help?

The Remington Model 76 is lever action, with a similar nylon stock. The Remington Model 66 is the semi-auto version. There is also a clone of the Rem. Model 66. Look behind the rear sight for brand name, also on the bottom of the pistol grip. 0 -
The 66 came in black with white trim/chrome, brown with white trim/blued, green (don't know what color the trim was)/blued, and all black with black trim/blued...all tubular magazine in the buttstock. The 76 lever guns came black with white trim/chrome, black with white trim/blued, and brown with white trim/blued..all tubular magazine in the buttstock. The box (clip) magazine fed nylons were 77 w/ 5 rd. mag. (not the apache), 10C (just like the 77 except 10 rd. mag.) and the 77 "APACHE" (K-MART contract gun)has a 10 rd. mag..(all of these mags. are plastic) There are also 10's and 11's and 12's....bolt guns in single shot (rifled and smoothbore),tube (under the barrel) fed and Box fed 6 & 10 rd. (these mags. are metal)...One more...A brown mod.66 "gallery gun" tube fed .22 short only with place /device on the forend to attach a chain from the counter to the gun, to keep customers from swinging the muzzle around and a shell deflector..... OK I'm done..I sure love those plastic Remingtons!!!!! [This message has been edited by JIM STARK (edited 02-21-2002).][This message has been edited by JIM STARK (edited 02-21-2002).] 0
