Hi a friend has asked me to post this question so he can learn more about a 22 short (WCF?) that was his father's gun. He has was wondering about a little history on the rifle and is also looking for a rear sight.

  Ask your friend to examine his rifle's markings again. Is the 8 really a 6, making it a model 16? Is it a semi-auto? What condition is it in?
