Ruger 10/22 problem
We were out shooting today and the 10/22 was jamming sometimes (failing to eject to the spent cases) (it has happened before). I think this might be caused by the ammo we are using: Remington .22lr brass-plated HPs. Unfortunately this was just the minor problem; when my dad was trying to get it out some pieces popped out. I think we found them all- but I am unsure. The parts are (I think) the ejector mechanism; there is something that looks like a piston and something that is shaped like a "C". we have taken it apart (I am getting the keyboard all dirty ) and are trying to figure out how it goes back together. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks,TonyOh, I probably made some mistakes/ommisions above, so ask if I didnt make sense.

hmm never mind, I think I fixed it; have to clean it and put it back together to know for sure. 0 -
It is cycling correctly now. Whew, i was worried about having to buy some parts or paying a gunsmith; I would rather buy some ammo 0 -
Glad it worked out. I have a 10/22T and I hate the damn thing.I'd rather pay a gunsmith than lose a body part. 0 -
Good point Terv. You might want to do a search and find a post I started about my 10/22, titled "10/22 jams". Mine had problems cycling also, and I got a lot of great advice for future reference.

I ran a search but couldnt find your post niklasal; the goofy shell came out no problem, so tehre was no bad risk (a lot better than driving with it in the truck with us); I would also like to add that there were at least a a half dozen insstances where those Remington bullets failed to fire even after being struck properly. 0 -
as a matter of fact my dad just said when it got stuck it was one of the duds...What high quality ammo 0 -
Dammit it got deleted. It was a good post too.Basically, things to watch out for were proper lubrication, poor quality magazine, cheap ammo. My problem was lubrication.. I think. I still need time to field test.
