"I don't normally "smith" on these but a customer brought one in with a broken ram-rod stuck in the barrel over a old lite load of powder...this is an org. kentucky type apx. 45 cal. rifle....the nipple is smashed and rusted in (old) real bad...we need some help. any suggestions ??? azgunnut2@yahoo.com.."OK -- the thread got shut down and "inquiring minds" want to know, did you get it out and how???????

well , fiest response was to turn down the job , but I done it anyhow...after attempts to "pull" the broken ramrod and "stuff" from the barrel ...I then removed (after muchwork) the what was let of the nipple , machined a part as a replacement , fitted with a grease fitting , and "pumped" it out..the whole thing made me VERY NERVIOUS becauseof the old powder charge in place.... 0 -
