M10 9mm

Would somebody please tell me the difference between a closed bolt and an open bolt M10. Does an M10 from the mid 80's have one or the other, or both? Can you tell me specifically how I can visually identify both? Thanks, Rick Hill

  Pull the bolt back and if it locks back, and when you pull the trigger the bolt goes forward, then it is an open bolt.But please make sure there is nothing in the chamber, and then look again....
