Hello nord:A warm -- all the windows open -- DIXIE spring evening to you. The redbuds, peaches, and pears are in bloom, and dogwoods will be breaking bloom probably late this week.Your post sure did bring a grin to my face. I am glad to know someone besides me has put money and time into bringing a SXS back to life.Sorry about the A. H. Foxes, but you know how it is when you get older like me----memory begins to fail you.I have never owned or had the pleasure of using a Parker. It it the length of pull or drop at the heel (or both) that makes them not fit as well as the L. C. Smith?Regards:AdamsQuailHunter

Adams...I have the same problem. Up here we call it "CRS", but I can't remember what the "S" stands for."Dixie spring" isn't in central southern New York just yet. Schools are closed this morning. Half an inch of much needed rain yesterday followed by dropping temps, sleet and snow. About 6 inches worth 10 miles west.In answer to your question about my preferences, I don't really know. I think it may be something like cars and brand loyalty. I got used to the Elcee, I liked its clean good looks, and it fit me as if it were designed just for me. If anything, it's the delicate wrist that defines the Elcee. Everything else seems like holding a ham hock in comparison.I bought my father a Fox Sterlingworth many years ago. It's used, but in very nice shape... And it's heavy and clunky compared to the Elcees. Still, it's a nice gun and it's worth more on the market than my "new" Elcee.Have a wonderful spring. We have an advantage here in the north, though... Mosquitoes won't arrive for another two months.

Hi NORD I saw you answer about O/U's. I will readily agree about the Ruger Red Labels. When I can save up enough, there will be a Red Label in 28 gauge in my safe.As a teacher, I am about to have a fit about the "english" ---- its "English" and in this case as it is with "DIXIE" it probably should be "ENGLISH".You and I are going to have to get to gether and hunt dove, quail, and costal marsh rails in Florida. Since we can't do it all at once , I guess you will have to come to Florida in October and late Feburary. (In late February, bring your fly rod too, we're going to have to catch some costal marsh fish as well as hunt----buy the way, its going to have to be an 8 or 10 weight or your not going to have any fly rod left.) I am going to have to go to New York to hunt grouse, and maybe pheasant with you. (Hopefully, there are a few pheasant left in New York state.) We will have to go to Elmira---I don't know how far it is from you, but I will have to show you what a two place Sewitzer sailplane will do.Best Regards To You And Yours By the way: --- we only have to seasons here in north, central Florida
Christmas and mosquitoes.[This message has been edited by AdamsQuailHunter (edited 02-19-2002).]
