got a old barrel marked 44 shot on top no other names is it a stevens, what model??

  BARREL IS 26 INCHES LONG,THIS GUN LOOKS LIKE A MARKSMAN MODEL, IF SO ,WOULD THE BARRELS INTERCHANGE????

  .44 shot single barrel guns date back to late 1800s. Friend of mine had one of them. At some point the .410 replaced the .44 shot. I have heard that either round could be used in either gun depending on chamber length, but I never tried it. If you are looking for a new home for the barrel email me rhmc24@swbell.net.
