load data on Nosler 140grn for .280 rem
My speer manual does not cover the 140grain bullet, only the 130 and 145. I'll be using Hodgdon's H4831. Boat tail, ballistic tips

Is that a max of 58.5? 0 -
Nosler #4 dosn't show a load with H4831 either. They do show RL19 (53-57gr) at 53.0 as most accurate powder and chargeIMR4831 goes from 52-56gr with 52.0 as most accurate Start low and work up slow 0 -
I used IMR4831 in the last batch - but also used 45grn bullets. Speers manual shows 54 grains as most accurate for this combination and a high of 56. I ended up with a batch at 54.5 as very good in my Ruger #1. I see that the same combination for a 130grn bullet uses a higher 57 grains max but a lower most accurate at 53. I think I'll use the rest of my IMR on these and test the Hodgdon on a known 145grain bullet even though the charts show no charge amount change at that weight bullet. Then work from there. Like you said start low and work up... 0 -
that was the max load that it showed.
