Unusual shot-gun device
When i read the post about the cane gun
it propmted me to recall what I saw at a neighbors yard sale (he wouldnt part with it tho)
he had a device that was solid brass---it was once plated (nickle?) the plating is mostly worn off exposing the brass in most fields----the story has it that it belonged to a prison warden--who would carry it with him on rounds
it had the patent date (which I cant recall now) seems like it might have been in the teens tho
it used a 16 guage shot-gun shell
and wasnt really a whole lot larger than the shell---it was well designed and heavy duty and had a cool way of firing
what would be the legality of owning a device such as this
I'm also old enough to remember seeing ads when i was young advertizing (pen guns)
saw one a few years back at a gun show in 25 caliber (yuck)
didnt they also used to make them that fired .410 shells?----curious about the legality (and the availibility) of these unusual weapons.

It would seem to me that would fall under the "other" category of Class III weapons. If my understanding of the law is correct, unless it was registered a few years back, it is illegal to own now. I'm pretty sure about that but don't quote me...

I think that it would either be C&R if the date is old enough maybe even exempt. Or possibly a long gun, but at worst it would be classified an "AOW" 0
