OK, the bolt now locks open all the way rearward like it's supposed to. New peoblem: when the bolt travels forward it gets stuck on the magazine before it can touch the bullet.-Marcus

gravedigger....i'm sure you realize now that hind sight is 20/20.....but you should always know how to put something back together before you take it apart.

The problem is a little toggle link that provides the spring pressure to the hammer. It has to be in the right possition. This is just before you close the spring loaded backstrap. I can do it in a second but can't decribe how. Play with it, when you get it it goes together easily. Don't force it, it goes easily.

If it is anything like a Mk I or Mk II, you will need the instuctions to get it back together. Ruger's 22 auto pistols are the most non-intuitive guns I have ever seen. I still have to refer to the instructions to take them apart and reassemble. They also warn you in the instructions to not pull the trigger if they are not reassembled correctly. You can break something...I think it's the firing pin. You may want to call Ruger and order the instructions if you don't have them.

I do have the instructions. It seems that the ammo was the problem. While it would jam on the Winchester, the Remington cycles fine.-Marcus
