Bad reloads

What exactly do you mean by "too tight" or "wadcutters loaded to deep". It's almost impossible to crimp a .38/.357 to tight, and my wad cutters are very low in the shell (but still crimped). To your question: call your police, and speak with their Range Officer, and ask him that question. You certainly don't want to fire off somebody else's reloads or any questionable rounds. Throwing them away anywhere is a no-no for lots of reasons. If the Range Officer can't help taking them off your hands, maybe he can advise what they do with their duds and misfires.

I don't know how "many" many is. But I would get ainertia bullet puller. Pull the bullet dump the powder and start over.Or give them to a reloader that can do that.A wadcutter seats flush with the top oc the case so too deep would be below the case mouth.

If you have a press - dies and powder measureget a bullet puller - pull all the bullets and start over, and do it right. No press? What a great excuse to get one!The shells and bullets should be fine for plinking use, toss (or safely burn or soak the powder) and debate wither to use the primers - if you want to punch the primers out and really start fresh - soak the shells in water over night lest you get a real loud wake-up bang from punching live primersRemember - sometimes that which is free - isn't cheap

BTW, wadcutters ARE loaded deep in the cases. There is very little powder used for these target, soft lead loads and the bullet is SUPPOSED to be deep - in fact nearly flush with the mouth of the case.Use an inertial puller and pull a couple. Save and weigh the powder charge and see if the load isn't what it is supposed to be.However, I do have to offer one sage piece of advice: Never trust anyone else's handloads. It is your life and health on the line.

    (a) Don't shoot other people's handloads as many have noted above.(b) If you reload follow above instructions.(c) If you don't, don't wish to start & know someone who does, give them away (presuming you can trust the person to pull them down & not violate [a]).(d) Last resort, give them to the police.

if its 100 rnd or less drop them in a container and dump some wd-40 on them , let them sit over night and they are now dead rounds.
