mossberg 500 vs 500A ?

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two. Thanks

  There really is no difference. The 500 was originally chambered in 12 Ga. After a few years other chamberings, including the 16 Ga. were produced; and the 500 was redesignated the 500A to differentiate it from the 500B which was the 16 Ga. and the 500C which was the 20 Ga.
