Value of model 94
I have found a model 94 in 7 x 30 waters. It is xtr model with long bbl and cut checkering. 95 to 98%. Anyone know the value of this little model? When was it made and how many?thanks

Mfg start date was 1985 I think they are still made at least they were made up to 1999.Would need ser # for date or go to this link http://www.savage99.com/winchester1894_dates.htm Value $250-$275

Made 1985 to 1988 don't know how many. I've seen them on occasion in the Gun List for around $400.00 to $500.00 (like new).The XTR is the better model it has a 24" barrel.I have the standard 94 with the 20" barrel.This gun should have replaced the 30/30 much better cartridge.It just didn't sell.Very popular in the single shot Thompson Contender.

There seems to be a slight differance in the above posts. Somebody is off. Big range between 250-275 and 400 to 500. One said current production to 1999. Other said 1985 to 1988. Just for information somebody clear this up. I'm not trying to ruffle anybody's feathers or start and argument. Just another persons ideas or thoughts.thanks 0 -
According to the 19th ed of Fjestad's Blue Book, your (carbine w/24" barrel?) was in production from '85-'88. While the 19th ed is several years out of date (4 years) it infers that the value of your gun is $231-251.00. There are LOTS of folks on this forum that would disagree with that dollar amount, and I'm sure there's other documented "authorities" that give different prices, too. If you closely read the contributors statements you'll see that they don't disagree (except for perhaps they 1999 date, and even then the fellow said "I think"), but that they address different circumstances. Gun List, Shotgun News, etc, and even some of the reserve prices on the auction sites fall above the "book price range". That's not to say which is right or wrong. Actually, the only way to find out what it's worth is to see what it sells for. No doubt that last sentence isn't what you wanted to hear. Sorry. So much really depends upon timing, superior description, and "somebody out there who REALLY has to have the piece". 0 -
My info. on this came from an older Blue Book the Seventeeth Edition.Page 1118.I did not say I got the value from the Blue Book, just the dates.
