ruger standard question

Have a ruger standard w 6" barrel ser.#17-48xxx has fixed sights. can someone tell me its age? also the bolt has been blued was this ever done at the factory? I have noticed a big difference in value between pistols that are "prewarning" and those that are not. could someone also explain the difference? My mark1 bullbarrel has a warningstamped on the barrel, is this "postwarning"thanks in advance.

  Look your ser # up here for date of mfg.(1981-1982) for yours http://www.sportables.com/ruger_pistols.htm No the bolt was not blued at the factory
