I have a Whitney, serial number "exp 5" with box, extra barrel, no book.
Box is kind of beat up. The plastic insert for the box is cracked.
I was wondering what kind of money it is worth.

  first, i have one and the mag wont feed properly (always jams, shell jits the top of the breech) what can i do about this?second, is .22 the only calibur made in these?third, ballpark value?

  Your gun was only made in .22 caliber, from 1955 to 1962. Sounds like the magazine is bad. Try Gun Parts Inc. 914-679-2417 for a replacement. You have a really neat gun whose design was ahead of its time.Value around $325 blued. About $75 more if nickeled.[This message has been edited by cliffdropover1 (edited 02-05-2002).]

  I remember trying to decide between a Whitney and a Ruger same price(new $37.50) .Compared to the Ruger it was junk.Keep it as a collectable a buy yourself a Ruger to shot.
