I was given a 300 Weatherby Mag by my Grandfather. I was wondering if anyone could tell me about what its worth. The serial number is 29035. It was made in Germany. Its in perfect condition he only got it out to clean it. I know hes had it a long time but have no idea how to find a value for it. Any help would be appreciated greatly. Thanx

Not much say you email me and I'll give ya a few hundred bucks for it. xploringaz@yahoo.com well it is actually better than that it is a german one which makes it better than average and also the condition sounds very nice though. do a search on weatherby but if you like my deal I will stick to it.Rich
Remember,"your woman may not find you handsome, But atleast she'll find ya handy". I love that show..............

Regarding your Weatherby rifle, it appears that your rifle was made by J. P. Sauer. West Germany. The Weatherby book shows production serial numbers 20001 - 43730 manufactured from 1959 - 1973.As to the worth of your rifle, a 26 inch barrel is more desireable. You don't mention if the rifle has sights or a muzzle brake. Some folks feel the sights detract from the value and others feel it adds to the value. I feel the brake adds to the value because of the recoil from the 300 cartridge. If the rifle has a scope mounted, Buehler bases and rings will bring a premimum as will a Weatherby brand scope. You don't state if you intend to keep it or sell the rifle.Based on the description you give I would insure it for $ 1000.00. If you intend to sell it expect a price range of $ 700 to $ 1200 if you still have the box and papers.Hope this helps.Jim De Witt11thcanopyjrdewitt@webtv.net
