Night sights

I want to put night sights on some of my pistols. What brands are good - what are good combinations?

    What are night sights? I saw some on a SKS, big fold up thing, how do they work.

    I have had night sights. They are neat, but I came to a conclusion...if an area such as a room in my house is so dark that I need glowing sights, would I want to pull the trigger on a dark, shadowy form across the room?

    I'm not entirely sure nights sights were designed for pitch black conditions. True, they are brightest then, but they are made for low light. I'm talking about situations where you can see that the suspect is not a friendly, but white dots aren't good for fast target acquisition.I think flash/tactical lights are best, but they do have pluses and minues. A pistol tacical light is great, but won't fit most holsters. Also, if your adversary is armed, the light will give away your position...Which may or may not matter depending upon the situation.

    I'd say stick to Novak. I haven't yet heard anything about Meprolight or Trijicon. Bo-Mar just came out with they adjustable sights with tritium dots.

    I have trijicon sights on two pistols and am completely satisfied with them.

    AS DANO SAID-TRIJICON-TRIJICON.I PUT SOME ON MY SIG 226.MORE ACCURATE AND EASIER TO ACQUIRE THAN FACTORY.ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM,VERY VERY HAPPY.MINE ARE GREEN
