Scope rings and mounts

I have a Winchester model 70 .270 bought it at wal-mart with a cheap scope on it..I bought a bushnell 3x9x40 wide angle sportview..What will i need to remove and replace to mount this scope....

    Scope mounting can go all the way from simple to complicated, and cheap to expensive. Your job sounds pretty straightforward. You can probably use the same mounts and rings. Ascertain what kind of fasteners are used to hold the rings around the scope
    allen-type, hex-head, or screws. Secure your rifle in a padded vise and remove the top part of the rings by unscrewing the fasteners. Remove the original scope and replace it with the new scope. It's a good idea at this point to make sure that the fasteners in the mounts are tight. Replace the ring tops with the fasteners LOOSELY. At this point you may wish to put a drop of blue loc-tite on the threads of each fastener. Now assure that the crosshairs are vertical/horizontal, and holding the rifle to your shoulder move the scope forward/backward until you obtain the proper eye relief--the spot at which you can get the whole picture immediately upon mounting the rifle to your shoulder. Make sure that the rear of the scope is at least two inches forward of your eye! Now tighten the screws down, making sure to do so evenly, and checking to see that the crosshairs don't move off of vertical/horizontal as you tighten the screws. That should complete the job except for boresighting with a boresighter or actually shooting.
