At one time in the not so distant past,I would have said Browning, but today I in my own personal opinion, would advise pick the one that feels good to you and feel reasonably sure that the Quality is comparable. Old John would roll over in his grave if he could see one of those pinkand royal-blue semi-auto 22's 0 -
I'm going to have to agree with Mr. Odle. I've always been a fan of Browning's high-gloss walnut stocks, but that's not the reason why you buy a rifle. At least, that's not all of it. Both the Winchester and Browning bolt actions that I have are very tight and group exceptionally well. No complaints about either. Fit and feel are what it's about. If they both feel the same, pick the purdy one. 0 -
http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/abolt/abt_white_gold.htm You want that one. That is if you want the pretty one. OTW, I can't answer your question as I am no expert. But if you saw this gun in person you would want it. 0 -
That's exactly what I mean. I just picked up a Browning White Gold Medallion in .270 two weeks ago. It may be a little more expensive, but it sure is purdy. 0 -
DaRoosta, I just went out and shot mine for the first time today. I bought a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44 and Burris mount and rings. I was very impressed with its accuracy. Especially considering I was shooting the cheap Remington Core-Lokt ammo and using sandbags for a rest. I was able to shoot 1" groups at a 100 yds and could tell that my less than perfect sandbag rest was keeping me from shooting better.I plan to shoot this gun alot in the future as the recoil was not too bad and it was a pleasure to look through that Zeiss scope. It made looking through the range supplied Simmons spotting scope unpleasant at best. The optics quality on the Conquest scopes are outstanding. 0 -
I bought mine with only 5 rounds fired out of it, so it was very slightly used. Came with a silver Leupold 3.5x10x50 Vari-XIII and Leupold base and rings. The thing is gorgeous. I didn't realize it would be so nice. The picture on the Browning website doesn't do it justice at all.I've been shooting Federal Sierra Gameking's and it seems to be a good match so far, but I haven't tried anything else to this point. I'm doing about 1" off my bipod at 100-yds. That's good enough for me for now.I haven't tried the Zeiss Conquest yet, but I may put one on my next purchase. I'm thinking my next purchase will be the Browning M-1000 Eclipse Hunter in 7mm Mag. I haven't seen one in person yet, but I like the thumbhole stock. I'm just unsure about the BOSS system. I think I'll like it, but I've heard varying opinions. The way I see it is it's mostly a marketing gimmick that doesn't do as much as it claims.Anyway, good luck with yours and if you find a good factory round, let me know and I'll give it a try. 0
