Mini 30 break will improve felt recoil, but louder. Accuratcy is generaly worse for the mini 14. Keep the Mini 30 with break. Might want to work on the trigger, but you are doing fine now. Best, Robert

landis,If you want better accuracy the easy way, buy a quality AR-15 (Bushmaster or Armalite). Your Mini-30 (or a Mini-14) is designed for the group size you are getting. It can be improved, but 2-3 MOA is about the best due to the impacting op rod design.Accuracy improvements are:- trigger job (several good shops out there do this for $40-60)- bedding the barrel/receiver (learn how, and buy a kit from Brownells')- recrown the muzzle- install a heavy barrel, hand-layed up kevlar/fiberglass stock (you've put in enought by now to get a match quality AR-15!)I've slicked up the triggers on several Minis and when the action is properly bedded, been able to get 2-3 MOA with good quality ammo (not always possible with "what ya got cheap" stuff). Then again, I handload and can tailor the ammo to my rifles/So, bottom line is, the Mini rifles are made to be small "battle rifles". Guns designed to work to be ultra reliable, even when dirty, aren't going to be sub-MOA target rifles (and the opposite also applys - target grade guns aren't designed to work well when full of mud!).P.S., if you buy a muzzle brake that is held on by set screws, you MUST mill/drill out indentations on the barrel for the set screws and use locktite. If you don't, you will find your brake flying off either down range or into the shooter next to you (really bad form!). And don't expect better accuracy by putting on a brake - that isn't what they are for and you will be dissappointed.[This message has been edited by luger01 (edited 01-28-2002).]
