Leupold Boresighter
Just mounted a scope with Leupold`s new magnetic boresighter and was not too imprested. Thought it would have been a little closer than what it was, needed a 3ft. square piece of paper at 50yds. to get on target. Did I make a mistake or should I box it up and return it to the store? Thougth I had read the instructions and even followed them. THANKS for any comments.

That's about the same results I had. I was not empressed. I heard they were going to discontinue it.

On bolt action rifles, where you can pull the bolt and look down the bore from the breach end, you don't need a tool for bore sighting. At least that's my opinion. I can sight-in a rifle to hit a 18" square paper at 50 yards by just bore sighting down the bore and comparing that to where the scope is aimed. No tools needed. But lever-action, pump, and semi-auto rifles are another matter. With them, the bore sight tool may be of some help. 0 -
Your first shot on sighting in should be at 25 yards, not 50. 0 -
Well I just sent it back to the supplier. I will go back to the old way looking down the bore instead of looking for an easy way out. Thanks for the comments, guess I will just have to buy something else with my money! 0
