This is tough to describe in words, but here goes:Milled receiver means it has been milled (ground) out of a solid block of metal, where stamped means it is "cookie-cut" out of a sheet of metal about the thickness of an old car fender. The stamped sheet is then folded to the shape of a receiver. On milled receivers, if you look closely, you can see the mill marks (small circular patterns) where the receiver has been formed.By the way, the receiver is the part that houses the bolt and hammer, has the barrel screwed into one end of it, and shoulder stock is attached to the other end. It will also have the complete serial number of the rifle stamped on it.

I got a great explaination one time... I'll do my best to recall. One easy way to tell is if your AK is stamped is check if there are oval indentations above either side of the magazine well. If there are, you got a stamped receiver. I could be wrong, but I am 99% positive

Take out your magazine. Look inside the receiver. Is it bent thin steel or thick machined steel. Also the window on the sides of the receiver above the magazine well in a milled are a rectangle about an inch high and two inches long. The stamped have just a small oval on either side as descibed in the previous post.
