What's your favorite pistol powder?

In the past I've used Bullseye and Unique and found both of them to be very dirty burners. Now I use Clay's and Titegroup and find them to be clean burning. Does anyone else have a favorite powder that's clean burning and gives good groups?

    HS6 for hot loads. Unique is too dirty for light loads in big pistol cases. I think it gets better at higher pressures.I need a cleaner powder for 800-900fps loads in 38-40,44-40,44Spl and 45 LC.

    Badboybob. Im no expert but I use Winchester 231 for all my pistol loads. Good groups and isnt really dirty.

    Have been using Bullseye for 40 years. Also starting using 231 about 10 years ago when I got a good deal on a large container of 231. When I quit loading shotshells I had a lot of Red Dot left so I used it up in 38 spec loads. It is dirty.

    I found the "blue dot to be the dirtiest in the 9mm I reload and "Unique" the cleanest.Haven't tried any others so maybe I'm wrong.

    Hercules (Reliant) powders are old, they're dirty, but man, do they shoot well. I'll stop using Unique, the Dots & Bullseye when I can't buy it any longer. There may be better powders out there, but my reloads are more accurate than I am.

    I use Bullseye for target/plinking and Unique for hotter loads.I primarily load for .45 ACP and .38 Spl. and a small amount of .380.

    Bullseye rules for all but magnum loads. Don't understand the "dirty" part of your post. You use the less Bullseye to acheive the same velocities, so there is less residue left behind. It also gives very consistent standard deviations if you check it w/ a chronograph, which translates into the possibilty of tighter groups.

    BBB, don't take this wrong but I am puzzled by your question. In my experience, each different caliber/pistol has a powder that works better than all the others; for the .45ACP it might be Bullseye (and is for me), for the 9mm, unique and Herco might do it while the .44RemMag might like H110. Can't say I have ONE favorite pistol powder but I do have favorites for each caliber.Do you let clean vs dirty burning determine what you load (as opposed to what works best)?

    I just started reloading .45 ACP and after some research, I decided on Bullseye for the first powder to try. I see no reason to try others. I get great groups and don't find it particularly dirty. If it works, why switch?
    Without the NRA, the second ammendment would already be gone!

    I HAVE BEEN USING 2400 ON 38-357-44MAG AND FIND IT LEAVES A CORNMEAL LIKE RESIDUE? I AM GOING TO FIND SOMTHING ELSE WHEN THIS IS USED UP SO THIS IS INTERESTING FOR ME ALSO. I HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING BULLESEYE. WILL THIS WORK AND BE "CLEAN" IN ALL OF THESE CALIBERS ARE SHOULD I GO TO SOMETHIG ELSE FOR THE 44MAG? CARL

    CAndres352400 is more a rifle powder than a pistol powder. A lot more slower burning than bullseye. a 357 charge of 5.7 grs of bullseyeproduces 33,000 psi + -, but takes 12.2 grs +- 2400 to get that pressure. (+ - for bullet wt.)
