General Discussion down again?

Just curious if the General Discussion board is down again or is it my connection? Couldn't get in last night and again this evening.....hopelessly addicted....Rembrandt

    In case no one has noticed, it starts slowing down at first then comes to a grinding halt, it all starts this at about 4pm eastern time every week day, and is just about continuous from Friday evening through Sunday evening, but I'm not tracking the problem or anything. Admin. put this on the end of one of my posts today, I posted it on the General Discussion Board, but you probably cant get on to view it.Administrator posted 01-21-2002 06:27 PM
    The forums have not been down; they are simply overloaded by the number of people visiting them. We have some new forum software and are working on a converter to convert the current user base and message base to the new software. Unfortunately it has been difficult to find the time to complete the project as our first priority has to be the auction site. With this huge problem we just had and the corresponding volume of email to answer, problems to solve, and time to be spent finding a solution to a problem that was supposed to already be solved (that being 100% reliable database storage), we are unable to dedicate the time to loading the software and finalizing the conversion software. At some point the forum overload problem will be solved. It's just a matter of how soon.

    I`m seeing a trend..it go`s from about 6:30 PM(7:30 GB time)to just after midnight,then it clears up....well ,then my ol lady...er,uhh MRS Bee starts naggin` at me to get to bed......Just`cause GB don`t always 'put out',doesn`t mean I don`t have to.

    Hey,I just made the mistake of checking this board an got shut out of the General Dis Board, oh well!!But, while were on the subject of the board, i guess the best way to solve this problem, is to use the boards for what they designated for ,or?The older founding group like "The Smoking Jacket Club Members" Can Take Over the "GUN RIGHTS BOARD" in the PM, I think they can spare the space over there, they only have 355 posts.See you there!![This message has been edited by turbo (edited 01-22-2002).]
