Marlin Model 60 Help
I have a Marlin Model 60 which i have Fired about 5,000 rounds through it. Now it jams and misfires a lot. I have fully cleaned the gun and i still have the problems. Maybe Marlins just don't have that long of life.

If it is an older one, you may have the "two piece" "feeding block" (off the top of my head, I'm not sure what Marlin calls it); it is the part ( a cast piece) which controls the round as it moves from the magazine to the chamber. The old ones had a "two piece" unit riveted together; they wear and the rivets losen up; Marlin will sell you a replacement block which is a solid cast piece. This could be your problem, but it is hard to diagnose jamming problems without seeing it. 0 -
The marlin is only about 6 months old. How many rounds can the marlin handle before they are worn out? 0 -
How is your gun jamming? Is it leaving the empty cartridge in the chamber and trying to load a new cartridge? Is the empty cartridge hanging half way out of the action? 0 -

it jams both ways that u discribed. It will also let the spent case and the new shell jam at the same time. Then the new shell can not be fired because the lead will get that deformed that it will not chanmber. 0 -
what ammo are you using ? i had jam after jam with remington but then i used federal ammo i might have one or two jams out of a box of 550 0 -
Have you removed the barrel from the stock to clean it in your cleaning efforts? If not, do so, and remove the whole bolt assembly. Soak in a strong solvent or blast with brake cleaner. Dry, oil, and reassemble.
