BSA scopes
I'm looking to get a scope for my 7MM Mag. BSA has some really cheap scopes and that usually means cheap quality as well. Anybody know anything about their scopes?

Are BSA scopes any good? Particularly the handgun types. Trying to stay affordable for a milsurp scout rifle application.
Thanks, JCS440 -
BSA optics are made in China, thus the inexpensive price. I have the 30mm red dot and it works just fine. I have read that the scopes work well too. 0 -
I own two, both on rifles. They're great for most applications and well worth the modest price. 0 -
I've had a BSA Platinum Target 6-24X40 on an tricked out AR-15 for 2 1/2 years and another on a H&R M-12 .22 target single shot for about 1 1/2 years, both still deliver 1/2"MOA accuracy at 100. I've never shot the AR beyond 300 yards (limit of our range) but it will easily hold a 2" group at that distance with the BSA.Keep in mind the larger caliburs (.308, 30-06 ...) have greater recoil and the scope may not hold up with them, but I wouldn't be afraid to try it.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about putting it on a 7mm. Should i be scared to use that cause of the recoil?? 0 -
I wouldn't be afraid to put it on a 7mm, but it is an inexpensive scope and may not stand up to the recoil ... if it didn't you could always send it in and have it repaired or replaced then put it on a smaller calibur or sell/trade it for something else. As I said I've had good results from them.

BSA scope are the best for the bucks, but don't like their ring. I have a 8-32X50 platimum target scope on my Savage 110FP(300 win mag) in a Choate sniper stock and it weight about 19lbs. Still hold true for about 1-1/2 years now. Best scope for the money and going to buy two more for two muaser projects when it is time for the scopes and thinking about putting one on my Ruger 10/22 target rifle. It is a great beginner scope for target shooting. 0 -
I have a 6x24-50 cateye that I payed 114 bucks for. I had it on a rem 700 300 mag on the third shot it went blank. I called BSA and told them my story. The man said send it to him and he'll send me a new one. The man never questioned me about what happened just said send it back and I'll send you a new one. Now I own three BSA scopes. 0 -
I've had a BSA Contender on my .308 for 3 years with no trouble. 0
