.455 Enfield pistol
My brother-in-law was asking me about the worth of an Enfield pistol, and where to get .455 ammo. I don't know about ammo, and my blue book doesn't list one in .455. Numrich Arms lists parts for the .455, but no ammo. Can anyone help? I've never seen the gun.

You might want to give Iconoclast a jingle. He is a cartridge collector and probably knows exactly where you can find some and about how much it is going to cost. I already know it is not going to be cheap. His e-mail address is listed under the post "Antique ammo pricing".Good luck on you quest for .455 ammo.[This message has been edited by AdamsQuailHunter (edited 01-20-2002).] 0 -
You say "Enfield pistol".....do you mean "Enfield revolver"? Is it a break-top six shooter with a 6" barrel? If so, it may be an Enfield Mk. VI....identical to the Webley Mk. VI.Look on the right side at the 7 o'clock position to the cylinder. If it says "Enfield"..and under that, "No (Picture of a crown) VI"....and under that, a year date...then that's what you have. Many of these were imported in the '50's & '60's and modified to accept .45 ACP in half-moon clips. 0 -
Sorry, yea revolver. He tells me it hasn't been converted, says it's .455. I haven't seen the gun. 0 -
Try www.ammodepot.com or www.ows-ammunition.com they both should have it.It wouldn't be an automatic revolver by any chance would it? There is an animal called the Webley Fosbery which looks almost identical to the regular webley but cocks and advances itself, and is worth a lot more money. 0 -
Ammo Depot has it for $25.00/50 rounds.455 WEBLEY AMMO: THIS AMMUNITION IS MADE BY USING REFORMED 45 COLT BRASS.THEY ARE ALL RELOADABLE AND NON-CORROSIVE. THIS AMMO IS MADE TO ORDER AND CAN TAKE A FEW WEEKS TO SHIP. PLEASE BE PATIENT WHEN ORDERING OUR CMA AMMUNITION. 0 -

Grizz,No reason to buy reformed brass ammo when Fiocchi is making factory new for only slightly higher prices. Check any of the big discount houses or watch for it at a show. I have some earlier ammo, but want more than Fiocchi prices. You should be able to find the Fiocchi for $27 +/- a box. OWS is THE source to find exotic foreign ammo **BUT IT SHOULD BE YOUR LAST RESORT** . . . their prices are always top end + some.[This message has been edited by Iconoclast (edited 01-23-2002).] 0 -
www.ows-ammunition.com This is the link to Old Western Scrounger, they have the Fiocchi ammunition for the .455 Webley Revolver in 262 Gr. Lead for 38.72 per 50 rds. in my 2000 catalog, should still have it at a close price.
