sig 220 or 1911
I know this is open to opinion only, but given the choice, what should I choose? I have a beretta 92, steyr m40, hs200, and a taurus pt 111. Will I find the 220 easier to get used to? Or should I go with the 1911, probably a kimber?

Hold both in your hands and try to find a place where you can rent both and shoot them. Both Kimber and SIG make great guns and you can't go wrong with either one. 0 -
I have both(sig 220 & 1911)! I would tell you that I would have a hard time picking one over the other. I really don't care for the Sig DA/SA even though it's one of the smoothest I've tried. I guess it's the fact that the trigger is moving too much for me. I would definitely consider the Sig 220ST, I really like the way it looks. 0 -

I HAVE BEEN CARRYING A P220 FOR A WHILE NOW. I JUST LOVE IT. NEVER EVER HAD A JAMB AFTER 1,500+ ROUNDS SO FAR. I'VE ALSO SHOT A COLT, SPRINGFIELD, AND A PARA-ORDNANCE DURING MY SHOPPING OF THAT PERFECT-FOR-ME 45ACP. ALL ARE GREAT GUNS, BUT THE SIG JUST FELT BETTER HOLDING AND SHOOTING. MAYBE BECAUSE IT FIT ME PERFECT, I GOT USED TO THE RECOIL FASTER, ACTUALLY MORE INSTANTLY. MY ADVICE, TRY IT ALL OUT AT THE SAME TIME AT A RANGE AND SEE WHICH FEELS THE BEST. OH, AND MAKE SURE YOU INCLUDE A KIMBER AND A WITNESS WHILE YOU'RE AT IT. YOU JUST MIGHT COME HOME WITH TWO OF THE WITNESS'. GD 0 -
If you feel uneasy about carrying locked and cocked or condition 1,then you should think about the Sig which allows you to carry with a round in the chamber and the hammer down, and the firing pin blocked.I carried a Springfield V-10 for years and when carrying locked and cocked I would often find that my safety woud be off just buy everyday activities, also my relatives and some friends were a bit unnerved about seeing the hammer back on a gun,so if it's peace of mind you want, get the Sig... 0 -
If you don't like carrying cocked-and-locked, go with the Para-Ordnance LDA 7.45That trigger is the sweetest DAO trigger I have ever pulled. 0
