Firestorm 9mm?

Anyone have one of these? How many rounds through vs. how many jams? I've got a Glock 26, is the firestorm easier to conceal?christian

    Stay with the Glock. It is a higher quality pistol.

    I'll never give up the Glock, I just thought I'd add a little variety to what I'm using. I like the look of the firestorm... but I don't know anyone who's had one.christian

    I assume you are talking about the FireStorm MiniFireStorm. (Is that redundant name of what?) If so, it is a cut-down version of the Bersa Thunder 9, which I consider one of the finest pistol designs ever. The fully-abidextrous features are what appeal so much to me. The safety and the slide release have identical levers on both sides. The magazine release is reversable. (Too bad it was not made ambidextrous like the H-K USP, etc.)The operation of the safety is one of the best of any I have ever seen. If the pistol is cocked, putting the safety lever UP will decock it. The safety can then be left on, or it can be taken off so the pistol can be operated as any double action by just pulling the trigger. The safety operates the "correct" way, meaning like a M1911. Down for off, up for on. The pistol follows the Kel-Tec P11 feature of having a 10-round, short, fat magazine based on a full-size magazine design. That way, you can use a full-size 15-round magazine as a carry spare. However, that is a big problem with the Bersa/FireStorm because there are few 15-round magazines available. (Only a few 15-round magazines got in before the ban, and they are rare and expensive.) Beretta or Taurus magazines can be easily adapted by cutting a new latch hole. (The modified magazines still work in the original pistol as well, so nothing is lost that way.)I like the pistol because of its design. I have not shot mine much, but it has been reliable to this point. I do not carry it because it is bigger and havier than my favorite carry 9x19, the Kel-Tec P11. I do use it as a house gun for one of the hidden gun locations in the house. (I insist on a safety on a house gun in case it is found by some unauthorized person, for whom the safety might prevent them from operating it if they are not too familiar with guns.)I do not believe it will compare with a Glock for longevity or reliability under adverse conditions. The FireStorm is inexpensive and is a nice variation to have for the reasons I have mentioned. If you like different guns just because of their desgin and characteristics, you should have one of these outstanding desgins.
