Love my P89. Have over 2,500 rounds through it with no problems. Have a P85, P89, P90, P95, and P97 and they all are good old reliable Mack Trucks that have performed flawlessly after many thousands of rounds in all types of shooting. Check Gun Broker auctions for prices, new & used, the lowest price is the bottom line. Ruger did have a $40 rebate program. Good luck.
Pack slow, fall stable, pull high, hit dead center.

I have a P89 and I love it. It seems to shoot just fine to me. As for the price of the stainless I dont know and it will depend on your location. You cant go by the prices on GB. I can buy a lot of guns cheaper at the store than they pay on GB for used ones.

I like mine a lot better since I put Hogue grips on it. Fills my hand and has enabled me to hit what I am aiming at. My wife likes to point out that her Sig 229 doesn't rattle when you shake it like the Ruger does. I point out that the same bullet comes out the end every time you pull the trigger, with about the same accuracy {neither one of us is a very good handgun shooter}.

Re: gunpaq's comment. The $40 rebate ended in December.(Please correct me, if they extended it into this year.)The P89 is still a great value without the rebate. My opinion: it's the best value (you get the most for your money) in any handguns available today.

The P89 was my first of several handguns. I lucked out when I bought it because it is an excellent gun at a great price. After 2000 rounds not one jam. Recommend highly. The hogue grips are definelty a plus. Base price about $340 with grips installed. Cheaper if you hunt around.

I have a P89DC,and I love it. It's very accurate and is a breeze to disassemble and clean. I had Millett adjustable sights put on mine, the kind with the 3-dot quick sight and I'm well satisfied with them. The stainless model(I prefer the black)will generally cost you about $40 more,at least in this area it does. I'm going to check out the hogue grips for mine. I don't know anything about them, but they sound interesting.

I've had a P-85 since they first came out.I'm now in the process of buying a Ruger PC-9 Carbine Which takes the same magazines,10,15,20 and 30 round and fits both the pistol and rifle.
