Sight Removal

I have an old Remington 721 and I want to remove the front sight prior to bluing. I think it is soldered on. Can I simply heat it up slowly and remone it? Anything I need to be concerned about? Thanks, Ken

  When removing a rear sight on a handgun, such as Browning Hi-Power.Do you remove sight to left or right, to compensate for the taper of the dove tail?

  I believe it is left to right.
