I don't beleive that they are available. The p226 was made in 9mm prior to the ban, the .40 and .357 are made in the US on SIG machines. these were not available before the ban (I could be wrong) therefore, the mags will always be 10rnds. These are available in cheaper than dirt if you want some of those. If you do find the high rounds for 40 or .357, let me know PLEASE. I would like a couple.

Chances are good you can cram more than 10 of the .40 in a hi-cap 9mm mag.

Hey guys, I have a friend that is a retired Texas DPS trooper and owns a gun shop in north Texas. He has 1 Hi-cap mag for a Sig p226 in .40 caliber (if I remember correctly, it was 13 rounds). No where on it is it marked "for law enforcement or Gov't use only" like the other high caps are of the same make. I would not have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

I wonder if the 13-round .40 magazine is not just a 9mm magazine? I wonder about the 13 rounds though, because a 15-round Beretta M92 9mm magazine will hold 11 rounds of .40, not 13. In order to hold more than about 11 rounds of .40, the P226 magazine would either have to have an extended floor plate, or be fatter. I suspect the former, as extended floor plates are available for many pre-ban magazines. I think the 9mm and .40 P226 pistols take the same magazine body, but I am not sure. Perhaps the .40 is fatter like a Smith & Wesson .40 magazine. Anybody know?

yeah, what judgecolt said! Does anybody know? If so, I'm gonna buy a jag of preban 9mm's for my .357.

Judge, the magazine was marked .40. It wasn't a 9mm. I'm not sure of the capacity. I may have been 12. But I'm pretty sure it was 13, I know it wasn't 11.It did fit flush in the gun. It would also work in my 229, but of course, it did hang out of the bottom.
