How does one go about on getting an FFL license? Can anyone have one, or do you have to be a collector or own a shop? What does it cost? I live in Ohio and I buy alot of guns and then eventually tire out and sell or trade them just wondering if it would be easier to get and FFL.Thanks Kevin 0 -
you can contact your local ATF field office and ask for the forms you will need 0 -
You can get them from the bureau of alcohol tobbacco and firearms

Mustang, you don't need to pay for any kit.All of the forms you need and the information can be had by checking the ATF website and calling your local ATF office. You did not need to pay for a kit to get your drivers license, so why pay someone to get you what you can get for free for your FFL......These guys selling these kits are not doing anything special for you or making the process go quicker, they are just charging you for what you can do yourself.Just a thought......Check out the ATF website: http://www.atf.treas.gov/firearms/index.htm

i might recommend checking with your local, city regulations first to see just how much the permit is going to be. The Federal permit is $200.00 for the 1st 3 years (if you are applying for a 1st time license). Here in sunny Wichita, KS they want (are you ready for this) $300.00 per YEAR for the city permit to sell firearms. Made it unfeasible for me since my lovely wife didn't want the traffic in the living rooom anyway. Good luck. 0 -
Kudos to SaxonPig on that answer. FFL's are not easy to get and I believe you must have a store front also. Ive watched many "home" FFLer's go out around us here. And Im dam glad to see them go. 0 -
I have had a non-storefront FFL for 24 years. 0 -
Ref 44 must be grandfathered in. To obtain a FFL these days you must be operating a legit retail business that is directly associated in some way with firearms. If your gonna be stupid you better be tough! 0 -
My only problem with home FFLer's is that these idiots around here sell everything at cost plus a 12 pack. Here I sit wit ha store front and a legitimate business trying to make a living. 0
