using store bought ammo in mil rifle

am interested in purchasing a spanish mauser,(small ring) stamped .308 . i believe some of these rifles were produced even prior towwII. most cal i see make ref to 7x57, 7.9etc...etc.. am wondering if rifle is stamped.308 will store bought ammo work.

  The spanish mauser were orginally 7mm, this rd is in the 40-44000 pressure range, .308 military ammo is in the 50,000 range, some commercial .308 can run up to 56,000PSI, I would recommend sticking with military .308 in this gun.
